Budget Overview-Indian Gaming Just to let Mike W. Boitano know that the story ran on TSPN TV August 27th as part of a budget overview story. The cuts, as well as the fact the impact on county funding from the SDF would not be impacted, ran in all three am news casts.

Polly, can You clarify
Greetings Ms. Pent,
First, I am sorry to see “former anchor”, as I thought Your reporting skills on camera quiet good and well balanced.
Second, I did not see the T.V. or web cast on that date, I am referring to the printed copy on the internet. Perhaps if TSPN would correlate what they say on camera with their print material the Public would be better served.
Third, can You clear up that part, “The cuts, as well as the fact the impact on county funding from the SDF would not be impacted…”. 1. What is SDF? 2. If cuts were indeed made (it was 30 million, right?), how can this not affect the county?

Correcting last comment
A portion of My last comment marked “Second, I did not see the T.V.…” needs correction. I went back and looked up “Aug. 27th 2007” at the TSPN web site and sure enough, Ms. Pent is partially right. I had missed a blurb that TSPN indeed made, the one sentence mention of “a” 30 million dollar budget cut.
The story entitled, “Budget Overview-Senator Cox Speaks Out on His No Vote”, stated the following, “General government cuts total $70 million including a 30 million dollar program that helps local governments mitigate the impacts of Indian Gaming on local communities.” Unfortunately, the article failed to specify that the “local community” targeted was Amador.
I also note bewilderment in Your comment, “The cuts, as well as the fact the impact on county funding from the SDF would not be impacted, …”. Looking back at this article cited there was no mention of “SDF” in the text, no mention about “impacts” of any kind, nor mitigations.
