Reasons people use today to ignore Darfur

Confronted with making decisions about “how best” to improve the quality of life, even today you will find a wide variety of opinions and logic. Imagine during the civil war era the difficulties facing African Americans who wanted to organize, the racists attacking them, there was no uniform or fast way to communicate, and most were denied education so the message was lost or muddled. Despite such setbacks the spirit of the enslaved and the outraged still managed to carry the message and the cause, one by one. I don’t think the problem was the disparity of the black community, all agreed freedom essential. The ones creating the problem were the slaveholding class, and people of all color that exercised apathy.

That’s why slavery went on for decades after the “revolution”. Greed, hate, laziness, and cowardliness. The same reasons people use today to ignore Darfur, and the millions that suffer and then die. Waiting for help, waiting for change, still waiting… How many decades will We let this go on?
