Still toiling away diligently

Preface: This is another snap shot into the creative process of writing, it is a quick letter responding to My Professor’s inquiry as to what We had gleaned from Our overall experience in class … I like to show the “behind the scenes” of the writing process, because I believe that other writers should examine how and why We write from one another’s perspective. For example, it was only when I read what Hemingway had described as His method of living life in general, that it became clear to Me why I should strive to expand My Own writer’s voice and more importantly, how… by being painfully and cathartically frank. So, with that said to My motivation(s), now on to the “peak inside” what writers real think!

Still toiling away diligently.....

Okay, looks like I'll make it through the list after all. Just finished the survey yesterday, making My way thru discussions today and tomorrow, and will even scavenge extra credit as some of those questions Your presented looked challenging.

Basically, I thought the biggest challenge was going to be getting over 'beginner's shyness', writing in front of others, suffering the slings of their critiques, pierce by arrows of apathy or lack of understanding. Also, the volume of written words (6000 a semester for this and Eng 01D is required) seemed daunting, especially someone not accustom to producing that level.

Lo' and behold, what do You know! I turn out to get over My shyness almost immediately (dive in and get used to the shock theory), but still, what about the voluminous workload? Ah, that's the secret You taught me, PUSH MYSELF! Peck away at the keyboard, stream that consciousness, let that pinned up 'little writer's voice' screaming out, crank up some coffee and strive to produce something worth a darn before the Saturday night deadline. What a blast! Writing can be fun, as well as serious or informative.

So, once again I'll thank You and wish You and Your family the best for the Holidays, Mike
