Taking better care of Amador

Take better care of common sense and Our vote - We must support common sense approaches to the infrastructure of this County, We have to fund fire and police. The Casino pays 5 percent of the cost of crime, I’m guessing around $600,000 (TSPN). But that’s askew, because calls from the Casino are about 25% of the overall case load in this County. And don’t forget the County and City of Plymouth and others have admitted spend millions in legal fees fighting for the rights of “You, I and the billionaires”. No offense, it just makes more sense that the casino pay for their own legal fees, impacts on court costs and stop lights.

Take better care of the teenagers and kids - to many negative influences and outcomes (boredom, drunk driving deaths) and not enough positive activities (Community College, after school support). If We don’t take care of them now, why should We expect them to take care of Us when We are old?

Take better care of the Older people - to many botched cases, County official steals almost a million dollars from people she was suppose to protect, Abuse victim dies before she sees justice. Not enough sympathy, We don’t seek nor listen to their wisdom, We don’t have the patience for them on the roads or to take the time and visit on the week-ends. If We don’t take care of them now, is that something You are going to be proud of?

Take better care of each other - I don’t know about You all, but I am sick and tired of all the negativity, the bitterness, the jealousy and hate. No more throwing verbal stones, no more gossip and bull no more games. Let’s show some class, act like adults and work with each other instead of fight. And then maybe We can get back to business and make this the community what it deserves to be.

And another priority that needs correction? How about substance over fluff. How much does it cost to fix the Museum? Please, pennies compared to the new Courthouse and County Administration Building, a.k.a. “the Palace”. Check the budget, when the department(s) all moved in to the new building, they all averaged around $60,000 spent on “new furnishings”. You’re telling Me not one stick of furniture was any good at the “old” building? Whoa….do You think those smug County officials are laughing now? Wake up Amador County!

How much County budget is spent for crime? Last time I checked around $10 million a year and rising, D.A. office, sheriff, and maybe local. How much is the budget for the new “Recreation Bureaucracy”? Last time I checked Around $40 million, read their master plan, I did. Another question I have? How many tax dollars were spent by the Tourism groups promoting Amador County for all those hundreds of acres of “Open Space” and recreation. Yes We need better facilities, just make sure We’re not outspending parks to cops, four to one. Otherwise great park but no one to protect You. We can just go to any City in the Valley for that, and for free.
