The real threat to this County is stupidity, not gambling

Open Your eyes people, the biggest problem in the County is having a Casino smack dab in the middle of where We live. Traffic, crime, broken families, addicts and more because about 15,000 people a day from the City have just got to gamble. The gambling is not the threat, mismanaging it is the threat.

It’s a fact that the Supervisors are so obsessed with stopping any more Casinos, that they don’t really have time or money to do anything else, it seems. Let’s here from Dist. 2 Supervisor Foster with a quote from tspn.com, “We spend a lot of money on this law suit, fighting these Casinos…” . Hum, He said the same thing to this paper, is there a pattern? You bet.

Mr. Supervisor(s), why don’t You let the Jackson Rancheria Casino spend money on this problem, instead of wasting Your time and Our money ‘gambling’ on an issue best left to free enterprise? You and the other Board members are funding and protecting a monopoly. You often speak of the 85% vote against more casinos in Amador County, but did You and Our fellow citizens know that over one million dollars was spend on that campaign by the Jackson Rancheria, Cache Creek and Thunder Valley Casinos?

If You were really against Casinos, You will vote against the next renewal compact for the Jackson Rancheria Casino continuing. Don’t like that idea? Then listen to Mr. Franklin of the Ione tribe, and support a casino complex for all the tribes, somewhere on the fringe of the county, on barren land were impacts can best be mitigated. Don’t like that idea? Then listen to what Mr. Bamert is saying, “If their stated purpose is to support the Indians, the Jackson Rancheria should invite all the tribes in the county to participate in the benefits of their casino."

Let’s see, one million dollars on a bogus campaign, and does anybody know how much the Supervisors and their Lawyers have really spent? Well, consensus claims it’s a Lot. Looks like if We had just spent the money differently, We could have fixed the Museum, built a park or two and still had some change to jingle in the Public coffers. Speaking of Change, that is exactly what We need in this County. But who’s taking bets on that one?
