Incentive Woodstove Replacement Program – Funding Still Available!!
The Air Quality Management District (AQMD) has approximately $38,000 available for monetary incentives to eligible El Dorado County residents to encourage permanent removal or replacement of older wood stoves or fireplaces with cleaner burning and more efficient devices. The purpose of the Chimney Smoke Reduction Incentive Program (Chimney Smoke RIP), approved by AQMD Board of Directors in July 2007, is to improve winter air quality through reduction of particulate matter (PM) emissions caused by inefficient residential wood combustion. To obtain more information about the Chimney Smoke RIP, please visit the AQMD Grants / Incentive Funding website.
