Biting Dog Sought

Bite occurred on Tiger Lily Lane in Pollock Pines on Sunday, November 15

El Dorado County Animal Services is searching for the owner of a dog that bit a man on Sunday, November 15 at approximately 2:00 p.m. The bite occurred while the man was in his front yard with his dog when another dog came onto his property on Tiger Lily Lane in Pollock Pines. The dog is described as medium-sized, approximately 40 pounds with a smooth black and brown coat and black tail. The dog was wearing a brown collar. There was no sign of the dog’s owner nearby.

The man who was bitten sustained minor injuries. Animal Services would like to speak to the owner of the dog to verify that the dog is current on its rabies vaccination so that the man does not have to go through post-exposure rabies treatments. Anyone with information is asked to contact Animal Services at (530) 621-5795.

Bite occurred on El Dorado Hills Boulevard on Sunday, November 15

El Dorado County Animal Services is searching for the owner of a dog that bit a woman on Sunday, November 15 at approximately 12:15 a.m. while she was trying to catch the loose dog on El Dorado Hills Boulevard near the westbound Highway 50 on-ramp. The dog resembles an Australian Shepherd mix and is described as fuzzy and multi-colored; the dog was wearing a red collar. There was no sign of the dog’s owner nearby. The dog was last seen running onto Mammoth Way off of El Dorado Hills Boulevard in El Dorado Hills.

The woman who was bitten sustained minor injuries, but the skin was broken. Animal Services would like to speak to the owner of the dog to verify that the dog is current on its rabies vaccination so that the woman does not have to go through post-exposure rabies treatments. Anyone with information is asked to contact Animal Services at (530) 621-5795.

The Community Gift Tree is a collaborative effort between the El Dorado County Office of Education, Child Development Programs, Choices for Children and Family Connections to provide their clients with gifts for the winter holiday. These three organizations provide early care, education and counseling services to income eligible families on the Western Slope. This group was formed in 2006 and has been very successful in providing a place for community members to help those less fortunate and to insure all children are remembered during the holiday season.

This holiday season share the gift of giving to a child or family in our community. Visit one of the Community Gift Trees at Placerville Library, Cameron Park Library, El Dorado Hills Library, Main Street Court House, Wal-Mart, Save-Mart and select a card.

Holiday Exhibit at the El Dorado County Historical Museum

Description The County Museum's Holiday Exhibit will be in place from November 15, 2009 to January 10, 2010.

Using the County Museum's collection of antique dolls as inspiration, this year's Holiday exhibit highlights Victorian era dolls and toys in Christmas setting. The County Museum is located next to the Fairgrounds at 104 Placerville Dr. in Placerville. The Museum is open Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM, Sunday, 12 PM - 4 PM. Please note, the County Museum will be closed the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas.
